Wink Semdu Watch Review 'N pics

    Hey all,
I acquired this watch from another member, Its a Chinese Semdu multifunction with Roman numerals, SS bracelet with double deploy clasp. Let's start the review with most of the things that went through my head when wearing this watch.

    Specs:
    38mm dial across W/O crown
Sapphire Front, mineral crystal display back.
Chinese ST1692 18k gold plated Multifunction with 24hr, weekly, and monthly subdial. Unmagnified date window at 6 o'clock.
18mm bracelet can be sized from 6" to 9 1/2".

    Some thoughts:
It has an excellent balance and weight. it fits very comfortably under a dress shirt and suit, and looks just as good to boot. the movement was easily regulated within 3-5 seconds after tinkering, it was running 5-8 over 24 hours fast. The watch also has a superb fit, and finish. There aren't any cheap materials used with the manufacturing with this watch- and the sapphire crystal on the front of the watch is a good piece of mind when any door or table brush ups happen. The dial is not too busy with 12 Roman numerals along a satin ring, with all subdials inside a brushed surface. It looks great under the polished swordfish hands. Some things that bothered me was how loud this movement is when I first started wearing it, almost louder than my Parnis auto. Over wearing it for about two days a week the movement has settled and has become less of a "loudmouth." One other thing was that the watch had a pin failure when I burnt myself and pulled away and my wrist hit the countertop- that didn't bother me, but it was the difficulty of re-installing the bracelet onto the watch case. The clearance of the end-pieces are so close to the lugs that installation is a feat. I would suggest not taking the bracelet off of this model, or maybe I'm just a monkey with a pin install tool.

    Final thoughts-
Seeing how this watch will be more than likely be $50-$100, the craftsmanship slightly surpasses that of Alpha and most mushroom brands so little mishaps that I had are understandable given the circumstances (or a granite countertop!) and yet the watch comes away unscathed. the watch comes in a gorgeous presentation box and Rex was kind enough to even send the gift bag with it. For a style that I never thought I would wear, it has grown on me. With price, finish, reliability, and aesthetics of this model- I give it a solid B+. I'm looking forward to more models That Semdu USA will be coming out with, especially with the idea that almost anything that can be imagined might be able to be made....

Great review...saw that chrono model on Rex's site but now your review brings it into focus ...I think the pricepoints for the Semdu models are very fair and attractive!

thanks Mr. Wong, its my first review... so I tend to ramble. When I wore it I would scribble thoughts down on a little memo pad, organizing them into sentences was quite the fun part. you had that Semdu Deville, right?

    Nice!

I guess this could become a popular brand. Alpha prices, Improved quality, and more original designs.
