    ST-19 Problem.

Hi everybody, I'm having a problem with my Ticino Pilot Chronograph with a Sea Gull TY-2903 movement, which I believe is the same as the ST-19, and I'm hoping someone with more knowledge than me can help.
The watch randomly stops running while I'm wearing it, I've played around with it and this only happens when it is being worn, doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing at the time, active, sitting, taking a nap, no pattern. It might stop for 5 minutes or it might be an hour, full wind, half wind, almost unwound, no apparent difference. It keeps remarkabley good time when it running, but if it's in my watch box or sitting on my dresser it runs perfectly without any problems until it power reserve runs completely dead. I've been observing it for a couple of weeks now, and it is only when being worn that it has this random stopping problem! Anybody have any idea as to what could be the problem? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's severely out of beat and just barely running when at rest?
Lysanderxii posted a 'what's wrong with my ST19' compendium of things that can be out of wack, but I think those were all more complicated failures of the chronograph mechanism.
Does it run in all positions (dial up, down, crown up, down, left, right)?

You could have somebody measure the amplitude and beat with a watchtimer, or you could try to do it yourself using your computer and a program like 'audacity'; there were several how-to's posted in the watchmaking forum. Actually, if it's severely out of beat you might be able to hear the unequal length tic-toc without any tools, or maybe even see the unequal half-oscillations. Then you could open it and try to adjust the beat (or ruin an otherwise perfectly good ST19 ): It's the lever that's usually labelled 'don't touch this!' in watch regulation posts.
