As long as Dorothy Mantooth is still a saint, I'm in.

Seriously though, I'm ready to predict failure. Anchorman is easily in my top 5 funniest movies, I've probably seen it 3 or 4 times and laugh every time, but it does not lend itself to a sequel. It'll end up[ being strained, pushing the original jokes into akward and unfunny places I'm sure. Shame. There had just darn well be another jazz flute solo.

It almost seems like the age of good sequels has gone. Reading up on the Rolex Deep Sea debacle, I ended up on James Cameron's IMDB page to see that he has annouced Avatars 2 and 3. With the next installment slated for 2016. Really? James is well known for some of the best sequels ever made (T2, Aliens, and of course, Piranha 2), but I can't think of an awesome sequel in the last few years. Good ones? Sure. But it almost looks like prequels are doing better these days (on the edge of my seat waiting for Prometheus).

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, sequels are good every time.

    That is a scientific fact.

Don't worry about it - humour is about as subjective as it gets.

    Re: Anchorman 2

Will Ferrell's wife has some kind of familial connection here in North Carolina. They came through Raleigh Durham airport one day and rented a car at Hertz where my husband works occasionally part time. He said the kids were running around like crazy the way kids do when they've been cooped up too long and Ferrell was getting exasperated. Said he sounded like very other frustrated dad he's ever seen come through there and that he was very nice to all the employees. Real down to Earth guy.
