Besides Iron Sky and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, this is the only movie coming out this year that I already know I want to see.
Just please be more Aliens and less Alien: Resurrection or whatever that last one was.
Regards,
Tim

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter sounds like an interesting movie!!!
So theProm. Trailer told us already that the cutest female member of the crew got orally penetrated, that some died, that they managed to get off planet ( with a knocked up cute female crewmember) that they managed to destroy the alien ship, and thatthe music and sound effects are top class.
And I got a little bit disturbed, when the ship Urologist said " big things have small beginnings" pointing his digit with a gleam in his evil eyes.
Any questions?

I believe that those "eggs" (biomaterial incubators?) contain nanobots/parasites that reshape the hosts DNA as well as spawning something else inside them. If you look at the teaser trailer released prior to this trailer, it appears as if it enters through the eye (tiny wormlike thing). The gooey substance might be needed for gestation before it enters the host.
I suppose the space jockeys/proto-Gods/aliens conceived them to terraform new worlds and seed life on them, but their encounter with the humans transforms the bio-engineered material (eventually to the Xenomorphs seen in Alien?). Maybe that alien ship that they stumbled on is like a Noah's Ark.
The Prometheus in the title might refer not just to the ship, but the alien/proto-God who seeded earth with life (the "king" mentioned?), and he probably went against the dictates and counsel of his peers (was he punished too, like the Titan Prometheus?). It might be have been him/it that set up those warnings - which the scientists took to be an invitation.
All conjecture of course, but some of it extrapolated from bits we see on the screen.*
*Also thought I saw ancestors of the face-hugger and Xenomorph in there.

So you think that the Face hugger is a later type?
But, this movie is from a more distant future than the first movie (Alien) and the face huggers alrady existed?
Also, as it has been suggested by the later predator/ Alien movies, the Alien species is an Ancient one.
Janne, the Nostromo in the original Alien was sent out after 2150, the Prometheus preceded it. According to the TEDtalk viral video timeline, Peter Weyland (of Weyland Industries fame) gave his speech in 2023 and Prometheus was outbound on the 50th anniversary of his speech, which makes it 2073.
Ridley Scott originally intended this to be an Alien prequel, but later retracted that statement. He maintains that it is set in the same universe, but we won't get to see the actual aliens (face-hugger which later turns to the Xenomorph after feeding on its host). The trailer has given me some doubts about that last statement ... perhaps we'll see an ancestor of the "Alien"?
Edit: Ridley Scott is making the movie completely independent of the AvP movies, he doesn't recognize their mythology/chronology. The only possible link could be to his original Alien movie (even that's not confirmed).

Ok, got it now.
I wonder who dreamed up the A vs P movie.
They were not quality productions.
