In complete honesty, I cannot say I love Detroit the way it is today, but I will always love it for the place it once was.

It breaks my heart to think about Detroit - I lived in one of its suburbs for 3 years, going to school. Wow, the musical creativity that still comes out of that place, out of all that misery and hopelessness!
The janitor at the school I was at used to carry a rifle in his trunk. And this wasn't yesterday either.
If it wasn't so dangerous to live there, I'd love to buy one of those grand homes built during the Golden Age of Motor City.
As for Baghdad, I'm willing to bet it *still* has way better food (and coffee) than all of Ontario put togther. Something about old towns...
