I don't know about that, I've seen plenty of idiot drivers here. When I used to ride, we had a restaurant called Soda Jerks that had bike night every Wednesday where hundreds of riders would show up. It was a lot of fun looking at other bikes, many of them were custom rides. On more than one occasion I saw boneheads popping wheelies right on the main drag and it was always riders on crotch rockets pulling these stupid stunts.

Your right in that it's always the guys on sports bikes pulling the stunts. If you have ever seen someone on their custom cruiser trying it you'll understand why. Lol

But a fast motorcycle rider is a menace, huh?
Idiots like this rider are few and far between, thank god. Distracted drivers yaking on their cell phones, shaving, eating breakfast, and putting on make up are, unfortunately for the rest of us, common.

Edit: let's not forget texting, reading books, reading maps, changing wardrobe, watching movies, checking on kids in the rear seat of the car, sipping cold beer, smoking marijuana, and so on...

We from Sweden call our State a Nanny state. They regulate just about everything.
But it has some benefits too, as they ban dangerous stuff and dangerous practices.
While driving it is illegal to use a Mobile Phone, or indeed to only have one hand on the steering wheel, which auomatically makes shaving, makeup application etc illegal.

The one hand on the wheel is a little too much in my opinion.

It is when you try to take a nap!

The Police in the previous post made a little misstake, I believe. If a Police has to speed, they are required to have the strobing lights on, is it not so?

Not sure I'd call him skilled. The only skill he demonstrated was the ability to roll on the throttle and look far ahead. I saw nothing else in the way of skill in that video. Even his upshift was sloppy.

Reminds me of this guy here in Hawaii leaving a marine base. Not as much traffic and gearing limited his speed. Caused a big stir here.

Skip to 4:40...I would've crapped my pants.

I used to ride but after being begged repeatedly from friends and family to give it up, I eventually gave in. Too many close calls...its crazy how many drivers don't turn to look before changing lanes. I'm glad I rode...it made me a better driver.

I had to take a written off camper to a salvage yard a couple of years ago. At the front of the yard, just through the gate, there was a line of wrecked motorcycles. Each crash had the potential to have seriously injured or killed the rider and perhaps an innocent as well. Of the twenty bikes in that line, seventeen were sport bikes and three were cruisers. Draw your own conclusion if you want. Mine is that those of us who ride and survive into middle age probably prefer to ride a heavier, more comfortable bike. It does not make one bit of difference what bike you ride if you crash while doing triple digit speed, you will probably die. I survived a low speed crash (50kilometres per hour) with some really serious injuries. I wouldn't have made it if I had been going over a hundred.

Yeah, speed definitely doesn't improve your chances of survival, it's not the speed that kills, it's the sudden stop. I've crashed multiple times at over 100mph and walked away virtually unscathed, but what I really had going for me was proper gear (full suit) and the proper environment (the track).

There are simply too many variables (and hard, immovable objects) out there on the street to be pulling that kinda crap. I'm no angel when I'm on the street, but there's a time & place for hooliganism and a crowded highway is neither the time nor the place.

So, no nose picking allowed either while driving?
Well then, Sweden can keep their IKEA, and all that.
I mean, take all the fun right outta life!! :D

    EDIT: Speaking of clean nostrils...

This kid should not get prison time - useless, and actually harmful to everyone in the long run.
A hefty fine? Also crippling, and in a way that creates other problems, without really reforming his bad habit.
    Education? Hello! Mary Poppins! Fuggedaboudid.

I suggest: Let the boy ride his bike, but with a finger up his nose at ALL times. He can alternate fingers, nostrils, and hands if he likes.
