Indeed, at that speed it's like driving 70MPH in a parking lot,
with 30% chance of gramps pulling out of their spots at any moment. Real slow.
If the kid wants to show off, he really should take it to Utah.
He's a f'n loaded bazooka.

It's like Jeannie said, no one would ever expect a bike to roll up on them at that rate of speed. I hope now that the the cops have him (undoubtedly he will be charged and lose in court) that he will serve a very long prison sentence. Those pictures of the accident show what a bike can do when it hits a car at a high rate of speed. I wonder how angry that family was with that kid and his stupid actions. I'm actually surprised that some of you thought it was cool. Think about how it would ruin the rest of your life losing a family member to another persons brainless stunting.

I once did 154mph on my R6 on the way home from a soccer match on an empty motorway. I was just enjoying the open road and didn't realise I'd opened the bike up as much. I had to pull over when I did see the speedo as I was totally crapping myself.
Doing that speed is bad enough but what this video shows is beyond belief; in the day and weaving through traffic? Monstrous, not in a good way.
It's definitely not cool. I've seen those pictures before of the bike embedded in that little hatchback.
Was just saying that aside from the stupidity on ten thousand different levels, once you cheated death the high would be...very high. I'm sure most of us have done something to get that feeling before - for me it's been some semi-dangerous kayaking. Not exactly on the same plane as this kid, but the point is still the same.

Tim

This guy is going nearly triple the speed of some of the drivers in this video. Most of those drivers are likely obeying the posted speed limit, so suggesting they need to watch out for this guy is ridiculus. There is no possible way they would ever see him coming or anticipate he is closing at that rate of speed.
I could care less if a guy wants to drive at high rates of speed as long as there are ZERO vehicles on the same road. If you want to end your life and leave your family with a horrible image of what was left of you, all the power to you. In crash at that speed, they would be picking your remains up with a shovel.
I can't remember all the particulars, but I remember a situation some time ago where a car pulled out in front of a biker in town one evening and the biker was killed...Well there was a big deal made about it and how car drivers don't respect bikers and all that....BUT, after the investigation it was determined that the biker was doing in excess of 100 MPH, the speed limit was 35mph....Think about it when the car driver looked both ways he saw a small speck coming at him with plenty of time to pull out, but with the biker going almost three times faster then allowed you could not blame the car for the accident....all charges against the car driver were dismissed.
I live in a fair to middling sized town and we have a couple of racing tracks. I'm sure most reasonably sized towns have something of that nature. This gives adrenaline junkies a place to get their "highs" without endangering other people.
We had a young mother killed on the very busy highway where my office is located a few years ago by a kid drag-racing. When he lost control, the front seat of her SUV is where part of his car ended up. He was killed to, of course. Very bad for his family.
