Had my bike stolen 5 times when i was a kid. Got it back thee times, with the help of my big cousin, who also added the punishment.

My fav was my last one, a GT performer bought at a thrift store, no brakes, no kickstand, no anything. I think it was like $15, i just had a garage sale last year and some guy spotted it (it wasnt for sale) and offered me $75 for it. Sold!

    Kinda miss it now.

When I was at primary school the cool rich kids said that Mongoose were absolutely the best bmx you could get. So us poorer kids all lusted after Mongooses. The coollest ones had marble-like effect paint job. Off white / very light grey base coat, with a kind of splatter effect of dark grey over the base.

    Fully. Sick.

EDIT: Just found these old late 80s Mongooses. bmxmuseum.com could be renamed as bmx awesomeness!

    BMX!!

I love them! I used to have one or two BMXs back then.... it may still be in my parents' house.. haven't been back for awhile; the last time I went home was 5 years ago.

    Ah.. those good ol' days!!!

I built this Haro Freestlyer Sport 1986 a couple of years ago.

Had Z-rims, Redline flight crank, Dia-Compe MX1000 brakes, Renthal seat post, Haro bars

    I loved it.

    What do ya think fellas??

I wanted to refurb a Haro Master as it was the holy grail when i was a nipper, just like this one!!

Re: Old School BMX GRAIL...POST EM !!!

Awesome thread... I had a Haro Master in white just like that, although I think mine might have been a year or two newer. The last bike I had, a 1989 (or so) Redline RL-20 II, is still sitting in storage at my parent's house.

Maybe I'll try to fix it up when my 2 year-old is ready for a 20" bike.
