Re: An amazing watch from an amazing guy...

Great! Thanks everyone for all the info. I'm buying a new diver for 2012 and I am seriously considering the Aegir.

If you're only buying one for 2012, this is it right here.

I can only echo much of what has been said before: Todd's watches are the real deal, and his customer service is exemplary. This is *not* just another micro brand. Hope to have one of his watches on my wrist in the near future.
    Some watches...

And as evident he cares :). Any chance of a case engraving? I'd like to dedicate mine to the pioneering divers of the R.N.P.L., sadly my father passed after we spoke and I'd like my son to recognize his diving heritage.

So tempting. I love the clean dial, the simplicity of the entire watch. Can't get much better than a Fricker case. Hardly just another micro-brand yearly offering.

I've read nothing about good things this brand and the owner and the watch is a real looker.

I'm curious why no lume reference was used on the second hand. I'm sure there is practical explanation (with the owner being a dive enthusiast) that i wouldnt know because I just desk dive and have limted knowledge about what's really necessary in a dive watch that will be placed into service.

When Ęgir releases its dedicated scuba diving watch it'll have a lumed second hand. The CD-2 is an offshoot of the CD-1, which is the watch that Todd created as a "one watch" for his fellow commercial diving buddies. Since commercial saturation dives are timed topside and there's never a lack of light, not only is a lumed second hand unnecessary, but so is a timing bezel (which is why the CD-1 lacks both). That he led with the CD-2 is a nod to all us desk divers out there who like the timing bezel, but no, the watch was never intended to strictly adhere to ISO 6425 standards.

    Regards,
    Adam

PS - And yes, I'll be getting a CD-1 as well.
