Re: Advice needed re 40mm Quartz Diver

I am still looking for a nice simple quartz diver, max 40mm. Like this:

Can anyone recommend any others? It must be quartz and must be max 40mm diameter

    Thanks all

I think you've already identified the watch U seek

Seriously, the Seiko SBCM023 fits your description perfectly and is well within your budget. Looking back through the FS forum here, they have typically sold for anywhere from $300-500 depending on condition. A good example sold this week on ebay in the UK for £231. A poor example with a scratched crystal went for £161

Just set a sensible maximum budget and keep looking - they come up quite regularly. Also try using a site like watchrecon.com which monitors the more popular for sale boards.

I suspect you are already aware you'd have a wider choice of 38-40mm cases if you were prepared to consider an automatic (e.g, Seiko SKX031 or SKX013).

Thats REALLY annoying. I just got scammed for one for $300 and then today I find out two were on ebay this week.

Autos are no good for me. I wear other watches, and an auto would just run down and I would have to keep setting the time and date. I just want one I can set and forget about. And most seiko dive autos are over 40mm. I can't wear them due to puny wrists. Looks daft.

Don't worry, just keep looking and waiting. They do come up quite often as folks buy them and then find them too small for their liking.

I love the traditional military style of the Precista PRS-18, a 40mm dive watch from Timefactors, which like the OP, is in the UK. It's available in both quartz and automatic. The quartz model from Timefactors is priced at 185 pounds + shipping, but I see pre-owned ones occasionally come up for sale on the forums.
