Re: All in for the One: Eterna Heritage Super Kontiki LE 1973

The PO with ceramic bezel was out of my price range, so I was almost relieved that the Jared's didn't have one for me to try on. They are both great watches to be sure. I'm really happy with this one though. As I strapped it on this AM, I kept thinking "wow" and how lucky I am!

As this is "the one", I'm working on strap options for other occasions. I've got an isofrane already, although I'm not sold that the style is perfect for the Eterna (will have to see), but I'm thinking about Gator, leather, or other options. Any thoughts? I do think that uber-thick options won't work, as I look at the proximity of the lugs holes to the case are pretty small. Pics always appreciated!

The more I see this watch...the higher on my list it goes. Beautiful...a true classic dive watch.

Re: All in for the One: Eterna Heritage Super Kontiki LE 1973

I am very much against the continual upsizing of modern dive watches (I would say my ideal size is 40-42mm being that I have small wrists and don't like the wrist anchor look). The original Kontiki super is one of my favorite watches of all times and I don't think they should have upsized the reissue to 44mm. It really doesn't make sense to me to reissue a watch at a totally different size, but whatever. With that being said, this watch looks amazing and I think it is a better choice in every way compared to a PO. I think it looks better and has a more reliable movement. Congrats!!
