Re: Aquadive BS100SS, Tuna SBBN015 or Sinn U1

I just landed my first Tuna within the week, and it such a killer piece that has surpassed my expectations. I will be purchasing more in time. BUT- as many have mentioned above, all 3 of your options are stellar watches, and you honestly couldn't go wrong. I have also been tempted to get a AD, due to the rave reviews and solid history behind the brand... It's " THE Dive Machine" for goodness sake, well, at least that's what AD site says.

Side note, I have always been a auto guy... Having a decent rotation in play, a couple winders in motion, and just thrilled that I can grab my Tuna and go with no hassle. I never thought I would enjoy a quartz as much as I do. The accuracy is top tier and it has become my reference for setting my autos when not using my Atomic clock. I am also enjoying the fact that the Tuna is built to handle just about anything one could/would throw at it.

Good luck and please circle back around with pics of your selection.

Well I'm still trying to decide as I have some concerns about each one.

With the Sinn I'm worried about the ar getting marks/scuffs/spots etc.

With the Tuna I'm worried about the second hand not lining up with the minute markers. This a particular concern for me because I contacted Seiya and he said he doesn't have any stock with the second hand lined up properly with all the minute markers.

Is this a very common issue with the Tuna?

My Tuna isn't perfect...I'd say maybe half hit dead center...half touches the marker but is very slightly off. It's not a Tuna issue, it's just quartz in general...if you think that will bother you, it might not be for you since I don't think they can guarantee it.

I asked Higuchi if he could send me one with good alignment and I wasn't disappointed.

All are good watches. Don't worry about grail or not, work hard and you could get them all.

How much abuse will you put on them? do you dive? list your priorities (design, accuracy etc.) and do a score sheet, and you can come to a conclusion.

Well I finally made up my mind. I ended up going in a little different direction with a Sinn 103 a Sa. Thanks again for the helpful replies. I'll still probably want to check out the Tuna and U1 down the road.
