I really like the design of this watch, but the dials and hands never really stood out for me.
This new design with all DLC, looks incredible. They did a fantastic job on it.
Just wondering why they have to limit the best looking watches? It was a similar thing with
the Oceanic Benarus Meg watch, the best looking and extremely limited.
And unfortunately being offered when I'm dry on funds. Don't put a limit on us WUS fans!

Exactly my thoughts. None of the previous dial/hands combo were appealing to me. But this, looks amazing! The DLC is a big plus over regular PVD treatment. Great job, I like it a lot!!!

    Something to consider for sure...

I just reserved one of these today and picked my number off of a spreadsheet. There were about sixteen open spots left on the sheet, price was right around $1000 if you live outside of Europe (no VAT), 50% deposit for reserve.

I like the look but the price is high imo especially when a Ti watch comes on a SS bracelet... shame

Well, it comes with a rubber band and mesh bracelet, I'm not aware of any Ti mesh so that's why it's SS. I've seen a few people questioning the price but keep in mind the steel version of this watch is around $700. Factor in the Ti case at low production numbers, Swiss movement that's becoming more exclusive, DLC coating, and nice engraving on the back, it's a doable price for me. All the above things plus the clean dial are what helped make my decision.

I totally agree. As with everything, some will find value in it some will not. We also have to keep in mind that only 25 watches will be produce. If i'm not mistaken, tools to machine titanium are different from those to machine SS and the whole process is more expensive. Same with DLC which is way more durable than the regular PVD.

The funny thing for me is that:

-I'm not crazy for black watches
-I NEED to have minute marks on my dial. Not a single watch in my collection is without.
    -Don't like bezel without marking

And yet, I just reserved #25. It's a total non sense, but I simply love the minimalism of the whole watch. I always found that case and bezel to be a fantastic design and the simplicity of the dial with black hands is a winner for me. In other words, it's unique and I have nothing like that in my collection. Deep inside though, I think i'm buying it just because of the lumed Oceanitime logo : )

I'm a bit surprised to see that this thread is not more popular. The Manta Ray does have many lovers on WUS.

Anyway, I'm happy to be able to grab one of these very limited pieces.

One thing to consider for those not liking the plain unmarked bezel, other manta ray bezels will be interchangeable with this one. Would love to see a lumed white sapphire bezel on this watch, in the future. Another thing to consider is the weight of the Ti manta on mesh should be much lighter than a SS manta on bracelet than weighs in at .6 lb.

Looked at the spreadsheet and about twelve left to reserve, over the halfway point.
