Default Bathys Content: My day in Kauai (Modem burner)

I am currently in Honolulu for 2 weeks on business. Yesterday, (11/10), I took an early flight over to Kauai, rented a rag top, and went to see the island....oh....while I has there, I arranged to have lunch with John Patterson, the brains behind the bathys.

I got on the island at around 7:15 AM. My first stop was to get some grub, then I headed up north to a land called Hanalea...I stopped, but did not get any pictures--because I forgot to. I then drove down to Kapaa to the place where John and I were to meet. However, traffic was a zoo in Kapaa, with the main drag closed for the Kauai Veterans day parade:

Bathys at the Parade

Kauai is nice :)

Lets remember our current service people.

John Did not know about the parade, and was caught by surprise. Because of the crowds we headed down to the Marriott where it is quieter. John drove in his cool 1964 Volvo Coop. Truly a cool car, but with the funkiest seatbelts I ever saw. Anyway, we had lunch at the marriott.

John is on the left.

We talked a lot about watches and Bathys. You get a real appreciation for the brand when talking to him. There are a lot of cool things happening...new designs...ladies looks great (saw a prototype, but do not want to scoop john, and also I did not take a pick). It should be an exciting year for bathys.

After that, John helped set me up on a helicopter tour....the Highlights will follow.

John helped get me to the Copter ride on time; time was tight....unfortunately his cool car encountered a glitch...and was left on the side of the road (for a bit). I did make the copter ride, and John's care is ok.

After the copter, I drove to Waimea Canyon, then back to the airport to go home. When I got back to Honolulu, I had my own bad Carma...my rental car did not start, and it too Hertz 1 1/2 hour to get me a replacement.

But it was a great day.
