The Best Customer Service from anyone, at any time, anywhere, for any product.......

I just took delivery of my Azimuth Sea-Hum GMT 1500M, black dial, from a distributor in Madrid......The company is called Chronotime Europe and thy have for the first time started to post their brands on Chrono24, Azimuth being one of them.

Jacob Uriel Smilovitz is the rep, (in fact I believe he more than just a rep), with whom I had contact and the help he provided was so far beyond even the best experience I have had in the past, I felt I had to let my fellow WIS' know.

Jacob would call me from Spain to help move the watch through customs, called UPS, called anyone he could get a hold of to make sure the watch reached me safely and on time.....He would routinely check to make sure I had everything I needed, etc......This all took place late in the evening, at times, 1:00AM or later Madrid time.......

I probably should also let you know the price was between 40 and 50% below the MSRP, they are not grey market; warranty card stamped and signed by them as they are an official distributor of Azimuth.

By the way, I love the watch and will soon post some pics........

    Swiss Military Charmex

Had a bracelet problem and emailed Charmex.

The owner, Frank Burgin replied and sent me all that was needed from Switzerland at no charge.

I'm going to take the time to write down the story that I've told a hundred times over the past 20 years re/ my Tiffany & Co. watch. Around the time I was turning 23 I got my first big promotion at work in Chicago and decided it was time to buy my first, "nice watch". I didn't know much about watches back then - but I knew that Tiffany & Co. must have a nice gold cased white dial on leather dress watch to go w/ the suits I wore every day.

Well - I bought the watch - it was $800 at the time (20 years ago). Wore it for a year or so and noticed a scratch on the crystal. I paid no attention to it really.

Soon I got a call from the corporate office to go interview for a big exec job in San Francisco. This was a 'prestigious / image company' and I suspected that they might scrutinize everything so I figured I better get the watch scratch fixed before the interview. They were flying me out in like 3 days. I stopped at Tiffany and told the sales girl that I had a scratch and needed to get the crystal fixed. She looked at the watch and said, "Let me take it back to the jeweler, maybe he can buff it out right now and if it's larger, he will need to replace the crystal and that could take a couple of days". I waited as she disappeared to the back.

When she came back she said that the crystal would need to be replaced and that it would be ready in 2 days. I said, well, I have to take it then and wear it as-is, because I had a job interview in San Francisco and I could not be without a watch. She thought for 5 seconds, opened the jeweler case underneath us and grabbed the same watch I was wearing - brand new, and said, "Here take this one so you will have a watch for your job interview, when you come back we will have your watch fixed and we will switch them back". I was blown away - I filled out a form and she handed me a claim ticket and wished me luck on my job interview.

Well - if the story ended there it would be impressive - but there's more! San Francisco hired me and I ended up spending a couple more days out there, returned to Chicago and didn't get around to Tiffany for a few more days. When I returned to the store to exchange the watch - first words out of the girl's mouth - "How did the interview go?" Again, I was blown away - in the course of a week this girl is dealing w/ hundreds of customers and she immediately recognizes me and remembers my job interview. I explained to her that I got the job, told her the company name (it's a famous company) and she asked when I was starting, and told me there was a Tiffany & Co. store in San Fran, etc. Anyway - we exchange watches - my watch is fixed good as new, I thank her and leave.

But wait - there's more. I start my new job in San Fran about a month later - I arrive in my new office there is a brown box on my desk addressed to me - the return address says TCO. Turns out that's what Tiffany's label them instead of Tiffany & Co. which would probably be like a "steal me" stamp.

I open it up, having no idea it's from Tiffany & Co. at the time. Inside is some personalized Tiffany & Co. stationary, a bottle of Tiffany cologne, and a note from the Tiffany & Co. girl wishing me luck in my new job. OMG!!

2 years later - I meet the girl of my dreams, along the way I bought her some Tiffany jewelry. When it came time to propose I took her into that Tiffany store in Chicago, by now the sales girl was the manager. I paid, well, let's say, the equivalent of an all gold Rolex Submariner for her ring from Tiffany's. We flew to Paris and I proposed to her under the Eiffel Tower.

I'm a loyal customer for life. Wished I liked their watches...

    100% true.

Michael: What is the most inspiring thing I’ve ever said to you?
Dwight: Don’t be an idiot - changed my life. Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, Would an idiot do that? and if they would, I do not do that thing.

    Surfguy,

Great Story. Thanks for sharing. It's great to hear that some people still get it when it comes to customer service. Hopefully that salesperson's skills have helped her up the corporate ladder and others have learned from her along the way.
