    Question Boschett or Bernhardt

Both are great. But which is greater? I'm looking for a yellow automatic diver and both fit the bill (and budget).

Which one would you pick and why? Do you have any experience with any of them?

    Re: Boschett or Bernhardt

I have owned both, and they are both exceptional values. The Boschett has a much more solid bezel with no play in it, the Bernhardt bezel was a bit loose in my opinion. The bracelet is a toss up, both are very solid. Boschett had previously used a stamped clasp, but my understanding is they have upgraded so it should be even money in the bracelet department. Lume is adequate but not great on both. Both great companies to deal with and you would be happy with either one.

I sold my Bernhardt and now have (2) Boschetts, one of them is the yellow RR you pictured. My reason is I have a "thing" about bezels fitting, and turning firmly, and the Boschett is just more solid in that area.

    Hope that helps

Looks are subjective, but to my eye, the Boschett "looks" more serious, more of a tool watch, just plain tougher.

I don't know much about Bernhardt, but I would choose "Swiss Made" over "Swiss Movement." Also, it would appear the Bernhardt is 200m rated while the Boschett is 300m. Again, two more subjective rationales, but they're both choices I would make toward the Boschett.

I recently purchased a Reef Ranger in orange and I am very happy with it. It "feels" very serious, feels like a tool watch, and feels big and tough on my wrist.

I'll preface this by saying I have a silver Sea Shark, and really enjoy it. The silver dial is great looking, I like the case design and the bracelet is solid and heavy.

Given your choices, though, I'd get the Boschett Reef Ranger in yellow. My reasons are really pretty much aesthetic. I think the yellow on the Boshett is nicer (brighter) than that on the Bernhardt. I also like the look of the bezel on the Boschett better.

I also agree with you that the Boschett has more of a tool watch look than the Bernhardt. If that's the look you want, the Boschett sure has it. The Bernhardt is a little more, I don't know. I wouldn't say refined, but just "less toolish." Hmmm, that didn't really sound good. But I think it is a more versatile style. You could dive with it one day, and wear it to work with a suit the next. Well, maybe not the yellow Corsair.... That's partly why I bought the Sea Shark instead of a SKX007...I think the Bernhardt dresses up better. And the bracelet, of course, blows away the stock Seiko.

I've also found the Bernhardt lume a bit lacking, and the Bernhardt doesn't have a lumed second hand. If I were actually going to dive with one of these, it would be the Boschett.

I own a Boschett Cave Dweller and it is alot of watch for the money. My jeweler thought it was a $2000 watch when he saw it. I would go with the Boschett for quality and looks. The Bernhardt does not appeal to me at all. I don't like the number 12 on top and then notches all around. The Boschett has a more balanced dial and just looks more solid and beautiful too.

I know nothing about the Bernhardt but own a Reef Ranger. It is one of my favorite watches. It's fit and finish is excellent. It must have eye appeal for others as I get nice comments on it. Good luck with your decision.

Another vote for the Reef Ranger. Keith is great to deal with and the watch is really tough and rugged. I've beaten the heck out of it and only a few scratches to show.

Reef Ranger is beginning to look like a winner. How does it compare to an Orient Mako (I've got a blue one) ?
