Question C. Ward or just buy a Sinn?

I am contemplating a C. Ward Trident C60 Pro purchase but the prices seem a bit steep for a small label. I have never handled one and was wondering if the build quality is equal to its price?

On the other hand, I have had several Sinns and know it to be reliable. Maybe I should just get a lower tier Sinner for almost equal price?

I just want a beater sport watch with some water resistance (at least 100m) to wear around.

I would appreciate it if C. Ward owners could chime in.

    Thanks.

    C. Ward makes really nice watches, don't think you'll be disappointed with the quality.

However, if you can wait for one of their frequent 40% off sales you'd be that much happier ;)

Much happier. I heard they cut as much as 50% during Christmas?

C Ward is top notch. Many people are turned off by the new logo though. I never handled a Sinn, but their lower priced models do nothing for me aesthetically.

In a nutshell: Sinn is a superior piece, but you would be hard pressed to find a better watch for the money than CW.

Not a good reason to get a Sinn.

However, if you're looking for a durable, quality dive watch with more than some water resistance...

C60 has quite a vibe of the submariner. Sinn is not bad for consideration if you like a diver out of submariner perimeter.

Id say - Sinn is a tier up if comparing to C.Ward. Better quality, better brand recognition, more original design, new horology technologies - the are pushing boundaries. Yes, C60 is a nice package: quite a lot of features, but it lacks something. Discounts are a sign that a brand is not that strong. Why should you pay 50% less for some reasons? Maybe it's worth less then?

When did you saw a discounted Rolex Submariner?

Others have summed it up nicely. I've owned a bunch of Sinn watches, U1, U1T SDR, 556A, T2B. Very nice watches, but do I need all the tech they offer? Not even close. The only model to me that is a "value" is the 556. In my opinion, no watch under a grand comes near what C. Ward offers. Excellent build quality, features, presentation, return policy, warranty and size options. For my 7 inch flat wrist the 38mm C60 Trident is a homerun. Awesome watch even at full price.

Never handled a Sinn (their designs do nothing for me), but for me the CW is great quality watch at a great price.

That said they're their own worst enemy with all their sales. Why buy a watch for £750 if you can wait a month or two and save a couple of hundred??

I think they're a growing company, but their brand image is weak. Hence the recent rebrand to try and make them stand out.
