Awesome! I just got back from a dive trip to Key Largo. Did you happen to see any sharks? We were fortunate and saw 7 in our 9 dives.

Thanks for that bit of fun Deacon - the pix were awesome! Brings new meaning to "desk diving"...
Nice! Great pics of the eagle ray. I'm counting down the days, will be in St john in 12 days now. Good to see a Deep Sea actually getting some action.
Tell us about the camera used for these wonderful photos.
We didn't see a single shark, not even a nurse. I understand they do show up there, but not for us that day. It is the great thing about diving, it's like a show just for you that will never happen the same way again. My wife saw two tiny squid playing in front of her...I totally missed them!
Yeah, the Eagle Ray was a treat! I've never seen one that big outside of an aquarium. I'd love to go to Hawaii and see a Manta someday. I was at least a tiny bit nervous smacking around in my Deep Sea. But, after having had an "adventure" with it, it feels somehow more mine. I am glad to have done it and will definitely take it down again.
Thanks! It is actually a pretty stock Sealife 1200 camera. This was my first trip with the external flash and, while I have a LOT to learn, it really made a difference. I did use Photoscape/Photoshop to remove some of the green cast from the more distant pics...the flash will only help out to about 6ft.
I don't think that the Sealife has the sharpest lens, but it's crazy easy to use and takes better pics than I would expect considering my level of expertise.

Really nice pics, thanks. Man I miss that place, grew up in Miami and spent a lot of time in the Keys. I remember that statue well.
I also applaud your guts in setting the DSSD on a chunk of coral for the photoshoot, niiiice!
Regards,
Tim
