Are Divers on Bund straps out of style?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to diving style watches.. Recently bought a seiko Monster / SKX799k3 and had it modified by NEWATCHWORKS.. Who did a hell of a job.. I love the watch to death and can't stop staring at the Mk ii Dial.. I have one slightly huge gripe, the lug to lug is 20mm, and the leather strap I have on it looks beyond puny.. At first I decided to go with a pilot style, but recently i've decided maybe going with a Bund Strap would be best, to give the strap a wider, stronger look.. Does this combo look like it would work pretty well? The Strap is actually a brown colour and the watch is bead blasted with a glass finish..

I'm not personally a fan of bund style straps, but if it floats your boat!

As an alternative, and something a bit meatier that a 20mm leather strap, how about something from GasGasBones:

    His straps a quite popular

    Omega SMP 2254.50

No, they are not out of style... where they ever really in ...
Anyhow, I am a sucker for a nice chunky bund on a diver ... Go for it :)

I like the Hirsch Liberty, but I don't think a tool looking diver like your bead blasted Monster looks quite right on leather. Leather on divers almost always looks off to me. I think leather works better on more dressier divers with polished/brushed cases like Submariners or Seamasters.

Similarly, I think leather Bunds look best on pilot and military style watches by like Hamilton, Stowa, IWC, etc.

Personally I think tool divers belong on rubber, nylon (NATO/Zulus), matching bead blasted bracelets, or canvas.

I just picked up a canvas velcro strap that I think it works well with my bead blasted MKII Sea Fighter. It will also give you a wider strap profile similar to a leather Bund:

I think its all a matter of personal likes. If you like it, wear it! Right now I'm considering this kind of/sort of Bund from strap code. I don't know if they make it in anything other than 22mm. I always see it advertised for the skx007.

edit: BTW, that is a great looking monster mod!!! love the blasted look with the black dial!!
