    A definite NO for me.
But not a show stopper on a very few watches.

Generally I like the look but depends on the watch. Fortunately I can still see the date just fine without.

Not only am I not a fan, a cyclops is one of my few deal-breakers. Hate them.

Honestly, I'd rather the watch not even have a date function.

I can't stand them. Just looks silly to me. On many models, the cyclops barely helps at all with magnification. On Rolex watches, it helps a lot. But makes the date number look clownishly big.

Thankfully most can be removed. Rado has one that is under the crystal but still above the date window on their D-Star 200 models. While it's nice not having that ugly wart on top of the crystal, it also means you can't take it off without replacing the entire crystal. And, once again, magnification is barely an improvement.

I wouldn't buy a watch with one. If I were given one, I would sell it and buy one without.

Actually I know quite a few people who removed the cyclops. After all it is glued on to sapphire so it is fairly easy to remove with some heat. That is another option. In fact, I had a friend who did it to every Sub- date he got including his solid gold ones. Gave it a seadweller look. .

I like the cyclops and think it should be mandatory.
