I can understand the purpose but I think they kill the dial, I prefer the dial without a cyclops!

I do like the look of the Cyclops, especially on the Rolex sports models. I actually had a Tudor Chronograph with one installed. At first I thought it was a little odd, especially located at the 6:00 position, but after a while it really grew on me.

I like the look of the cyclops, especially when it has a pretty strong magnification factor. Just looks good to me, though I know there are many that don't like it.

With my old eyes, it's not a matter of like or dislike but of necessity. Where are all the no-date dive watches?

I concur as well. IMHO I've always thought that it makes a watch look cheap. Growing up, family and friends bought watches from walmart and many had the cyclops. I didn't realize higher end watches offered them till years alter when seeing several rolex models for the first time haha.
