I understand the reasoning behind having a cyclops (magnifying window) above the date window - to allow the user to see the small date more easily.
However, I have two problems with them:
1) the date becomes almost impossible to read unless you look at it dead-straight-on; and
2) it is a massive visual distraction to the overall look of the front of the watch.
(Perhaps watch makers are thinking they need to follow the Rolex Sub lead...?)
Whenever I see before/after shots of a watch that has been "de-cyclopsed" my immediate feeling is "Ahh, that's better."
What are your thoughts? Am I alone on this one?
