    Fixed my Tsunami!

My XW Tsunami took about a 4ft fall face down onto a marble floor.....SMACK!

I picked it up expecting a cracked sapphire crystal but it was perfect.....not a mark on the watch anywhere.....and it was still ticking.

Hours later I checked the time and noticed that it had stopped hours earlier.....CRAP!

Reset the time....it started ticking and I wound it up. Checked it again and again it had stopped.....hmmmm.

Went to reset the time and noticed that it started ticking as soon as I moved the minute hand away from the second hand.....AHH HAA!

The fall had bent either the second hand or minute hand and the second hand was stopping as soon as it hit it.

Sooo, I looked up how to open the watch and remove the movement. Dang! A gorilla had put the back on....couldn't budge it. Ran very hot water over the back for a couple minutes and then immediately put ice on the back. That did the trick and I got the back off.

Figured out how to remove the crown and then the movement. Using a 5x loupe and some very fine watch tweezers got the second hand lined back up. Re siliconed the rubber ring and got it all put back together......been working perfectly ever since :)

This was my first ever attempt at removing a watch movement.

Good to hear! I thought about opening mine up to regulate it, but I've never opened up a watch that cost me more than a couple hundred dollars. Glad it turned out well.

Yep, one of the downside of sapphire crystal is they crack easy. My Invicta Pro Diver 8926OBV2 with the Seiko NH25A movement has a mineral crystal. It has been dropped on the bathroom tile floor a few times. It has a few big scratches, but it still works. Which is all that matters.

..only downside being, if it was still under warranty, it's not now.

Well done Astropin, I'm glad it worked out for ya.
I'm more surprised you got that back off.
Those are put on real good, use of a commercial table caseback remover is the way to go in most cases.
I've seen even Noah struggle and not open a Tsunami back.
    Jake B is strong! lol
