The fee its charged by your card company afaik. Why would Halios be responsible for telling you something about that? We get slammed here in Australia on such things all the time. So, like my Canuk brother says its hard to muster much sympathy or see why Halios needs to hold you're hand on the issue :D

Even if you purchase "used" then you are still supporting Jason.

It is a way to support the value of his product, even if it has second life through someone else. It still makes the original new purchase even more valuable for the buyer.

In a general sense yes you are supporting the brand by buying used but it's not the same level of direct support than it is when buying directly from Jason.

As a producer of a product, I'd be more concerned with direct sales than I am with resales that I don't directly profit from. Hopefully my product isnt resold very often, but when it is I would want a great resale value for which would help my product maintain long term value...but my 1st concern is direct sales.

Mmm...I should have quoted your post. When I read it I recall there was a phrase saying Halios should warn customers about the fee....which isn't in the post now.

Because they are showing that you are being charged in USD, but you aren't really... They should at least say this is shown in USD, but really it's being converted to another currency. Then I'd know I'm going to get hit with the fee and I would have used one of my cards that doesn't have the fee.

I don't think it's some huge deal. I don't think Jason is out to get anyone. It's not going to shape my opinion on this purchase. If I could think of any other ways to say I'm not upset I would list them here. But if I were Jason I'd let people know. Give them the heads up so they can avoid the fee.

I would love to see a shot of the DLC puck. I'm on the fence right now and seeing a photo would really persuade me.

I've called BofA regarding several mysterious fees including some charged without any transactions. Let me know if you find a better alternative I am considering the switch as well for both bank and card.

I hope you know that my frustration with the fee was directed at my CC company, which also happens to be my regular bank (Bank of America). I've grown tired of them leaching me at every turn with "this fee" or "that fee" for a while now. I've been threatening to switch banks and this is the push I needed. I'm constantly amazed by their sleezy ways of doing business. This foreign fee thing is between BoA and I. I am even thinking of calling to see if they will reverse it although I highly doubt it.

On a more fun note, thanks for the update and I look forward to next week.

AmEx doesn't have those fees (at least on the things I've bought) and as a consumer is the best card around. Merchants might disagree so they aren't taken everywhere.

I'm a big fan of Halios. I can't see though, how they'll ship soon if they can't even get pics of the blue Laguna's...

I know it's not in Jason's control, but frustrating....

Oh well, no sleep lost though.
