US vendors don't disclose Credit Card fees when we purchase in the states in order to Ship to Canada. We just know that there are exchange rates that we have to be aware of.

I think one of the issues is that Jason is attempting to provide cost certainty for his US customers. The value of the Canadian dollar has taken a hit as of late, so Jason is probably losing money on the transaction in order to provide you guys pricing in US dollars.

In fact, this pricing sucks for us Canadians, because of this (remember: we get paid in Canadian Dollars).

I am sure though if you contact Jason, he will provide an answer that is probably suitable. I am not sure what he'd do, but as you may be aware, he is well known for his customer service.

But now that I'm thinking about it, when I bought my Armida A1 bracelet it came from HK via FedEx and I don't remember any "foreign exchange fees" -- but I used my PayPal balance for that.
The Hong Kong micros are pretty good about helping their customers minimize their at the door costs.

I use Capital One and no fee from foreign transactions. The main reason that I got Capital One is that I go to Vancouver sometimes. It doesn't hurt that it gives 2% rewards and redeeming is easy.

    Gentlemen -

Regarding the mysterious credit card fees: unfortunately this is something levied by some banks/credit cards on international transactions. I don't have an exhaustive list of which cards do this, but as ManMachine said, Cap One is one of the companies that doesn't try to squeeze every single penny they can out of their customers. I certainly don't mean to throw my hands up and say "it's not our problem", but make sure you read the fine print on those damned credit card contracts. Then shoot me an email if that pesky fee is still sticking in your craw.

While I'm here, here's a status update: Black Pucks and black Lagunas should be ready to ship by Tuesday or Wednesday. We'll have a few DLC Pucks available as well. For the guys of the blue persuasion, (almost afraid to say it) - we may have a further delay. I will be in touch via email by tomorrow with a sitrep.

Grazie to WUS for providing the bandwidth. I won't be monitoring this thread (if you can surf the forums, you can get the watches ready quicker, right?), but email me if there's a burning question that needs to be answered.

As always, thanks for the support, questions, critiques, rants and raves.

Despite being of the blue persuasion, it is great to have a very timely update.... Despite being a little long in delivery (and I will be patiently waiting -hopefully- only a bit more), at least I know what is going on with my delivery....

    (not saying any names here....)

    Jason,
I hope you know that my frustration with the fee was directed at my CC company, which also happens to be my regular bank (Bank of America). I've grown tired of them leaching me at every turn with "this fee" or "that fee" for a while now. I've been threatening to switch banks and this is the push I needed. I'm constantly amazed by their sleezy ways of doing business. This foreign fee thing is between BoA and I. I am even thinking of calling to see if they will reverse it although I highly doubt it.

On a more fun note, thanks for the update and I look forward to next week.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Does anyone have photo of real or prototype Blue Laguna, not the software-rendered photos?

The fee its charged by your card company afaik. Why would Halios be responsible for telling you something about that? We get slammed here in Australia on such things all the time. So, like my Canuk brother says its hard to muster much sympathy or see why Halios needs to hold you're hand on the issue :D
