Harpoon - bezel mod (updated with add'l pics)

Some of you will remember me doing a similar mod to the bezels of my previously owned Cave Dweller, Barracuda, and UTS.... Today, strapping on my Harpoon I thought to myself, "Yep, this one too" :)

A SIMPLE mod but a significant aesthetic impact. I just love an all-stainless bezel completely all-stainless. Well, aside from the single 12-o'clock pip of course. Anyway, all black bezel marker pigment removed, left with just a beautifully clean, carved SS alternative. I LOVE it!

Can't wait for the soon to arrive ceramic-inlaid bezel from Boschett, but in the meantime it looks so clean newly 'simplified'.

Here is is today looking fresh on white Italian rubber....

That looks great, Dave. How did you remove the black paint? With acids or manually?

I have the certain feeling I know your white rubber strap very well!

Wow that is super Hot! I love it. Great job and awesome photos.
Quick question on the strap, those look like the H20 straps but in white, mind sharing (PM) where you got it?

Chemical, actually. Used aircraft-grade remover. Designed for aluminum, but works great on stainless as well.

And yep, I'm sure you do! Always looked good on my Kalmar, and I'm the white will see plenty of Orca-time too :)

Thanks, yeah, I think it cleans it up really well. Don't get me wrong, I totally get the black markers for better contrast and functional usability, but man it looks good all-metal! :)

I'll shoot you a PM on the strap :)

Excellent mod. It puts the focus on the dial. I dig it!

Did you remove the bezel before using the Aircraft remover?

Thanks! totally agree! Feels like it just 'solidifies' the whole watch.

YES! and masked off the pip

That looks amazing, almost a different watch. Not a big fan of the white band but it really pops on the bracelet, Great job.

Looks great man, well done. Wonder if they will do a similar version when they see your handywork...
