Has anyone boiled Bonneto Cinturini rubber?

Hey guys. I know I've expounded the virtues of BC rubber over and over again, but my 24mm version doesn't quite have the softness and pliability of the 22mm version that's thinner. I've been wearing it over the past few days and it just doesn't seem to be breaking in. It looks great though, I just would like it a little softer.

Do you think pouring the contents of my kettle over it will soften it? Or will it completely ruin the strap?

You can try taking it completely off the watch, then buckling it as if you're putting it on your wrist, pinch it into a circle, and wrapping a rubber and around it. Then drop it in the pot of boiling water. I've had to do that with those hard Seiko rubber straps in the past, and it works.
For members who understand, no explanation is needed. For thread crappers who do not understand, no explanation is possible. Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I can't see why it would get ruined, it is just rubber.

Boiling it won't ruin it, but it likely won't make is softer. I've tried boiling dozens of straps, and I've found that boiling doesn't affect natural rubber straps. It might put a very slight curve in them, but they bounce back to straight in no time. The only straps I've boiled that held the curve are the hard rubber Seiko straps.

You can boil it but it won't taste any better, also won't make it softer or change the shape, polyurethane straps {those hard ones} can be shaped to better fit your wrist.

The Italian rubber is NBR and boiling it doesn't work. You can boil Polyurethane rubber or called PU Rubber, these are like the Seiko SKX007 rubber, they can be wrapped in a cup and boiling water poured onto them, then they retain the curved shape and are more comfortable on the wrist. Silicone can't be boiled either, silicone is so terrible it would probably turn to slime.

I prefer mine grilled, with a bit of olive oil and salt.
