    Have the Micros Slowed Down?

For a while there it seemed like a new Micro was released or announced every couple of weeks, but things seem to have tapered off. This is probably a good thing, as surely the introduction of so many new models isn't sustainable in the medium term.

Are there any highly anticipated upcoming releases? If not, what are your favourite recent releases?

Well, the hexa k500 comes to mind as a company finally on track.

I think a serious issue is the fact that ETA movements are drying up and setting alot of companies back months.

See tempest viking for a perfect example of a watch that should have been but just couldn't make it. And its a damn shame too.

I just received my Boschett Harpoon! Absolutely fabulous piece - will receive a luminous ceramic bezel separately (they weren't ready to ship with the watches).

Since my BaliHa'i chronograph is coming 5/17/2012 I'm hoping for a blue Armida A2 sometime in the near future...

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I agree I was diligently waiting for the Tempest. It is a shame this never evolved, as I loved every aspect of this concept.

Really!? Let's see some pics of that bad boy!

Keith's Harpoon, as well as the killer forthcoming H20 Orca series are what I'm looking most forward to. Seems, yes, the boutiques are moving more and more toward quality and innovative, well thought-out pieces rather than simply flavor of the month. Quality over quantity, I'm all for that!

Re: Have the Micros Slowed Down?

I think the more unique micro offerings tend to be higher priced than those were accustomed to a couple years ago. But I think there are more micros being unveiled now than ever; the caveat is that they tend to be off the shelf catalog cases that after a while are "remade" in bronze (but it really is still the exact same watch).

I've always liked the look of the Artego 300m, so the upcoming new 500m version has piqued my interest.
It falls well into a budget I'm setting for myself on any new purchases for a while
