HELP! With The Orange Monster Isofrane Size

I read it on here somewhere months and months ago that the Seiko Monster's fat spring bars make the 20mm Isofrane stretch and show spring bar. However if you get the 22mm Isofrane that compensates for the stretch.

Am I right or just crazy..?

And if anyone has pictures of each the 22mm and 20mm on a Monster or any Seiko with fat spring bars it would be much appreciated!!

Re: HELP! With The Orange Monster Isofrane Size

i have squeezed a 22mm Isofrane onto an OM (which has since been gifted to my cousin. it protected him well in Kabul and he's now home for good on US soil)

i haven't paid my Flickr bill, so i can't readily get to it, but 22mm looks fine on the Monster.

the large springbars need a bit of silicone grease or dish soap to slide into the strap easier and the strap can be massaged to spread out and not get that gap. however, when there is the gap is like 1mm (.5mm on each side) and hardly noticeable. after installing my 22mm on either of my Tsunami or my Tuna, i will "pull" the strap on each side (starting from the middle and pulling toward the lugs) and it tightens up against the lugs w/o a problem

another option would be to buy 20mm x 1.78mm x 1.1mm spring bars.
I've purchase from this seller and have had good experience; however, I haven't purchased those spring bar listed.

So the 20mm you can massage to fit? I know it's silly of me but I don't want it to have a gap (I'm a bit OCD about that stuff) but then again having to squeeze into the lugs doesn't sound all that great either haha

I do have a pair of those spring bars however I did find them a little flimsy. Which seemed to take away from the monsters "Tough" appeal.

Maybe I will do this. I ordered 22mmx1.78mm bars with 1.1mm ends. If they feel flimsy I'll try this.
