Helson Shark Diver Patina Update - *almost* two months later

    In case anyone is interested....

Here's the post I put up when the Helson arrived on Jun 2nd. I've just been wearing it normally, which for me is in foggy SF (ahhh, summer).
I haven't done any of those egg tricks I've read about some of you doing or anything else to encourage the patina. Just normal wear and sweat.

Here's a "before" pic from that post on the left, and an "after" pic that I took on Sunday on the right (if I can align these pics correctly)

Great change. I too am letting mine happen naturally with periodic gulf coast fishing trips.

Nice natural patina process (IMHO the only real way to have patina), I expect to have this kind of result with my experiment on my A1 Bronze :

We'll see in 10 weeks or so...

SoTex: Nice pics. I was in SA last week (I'm from there originally). I wonder if ours were the only two Helsons there at the same time.

I too am pretty impressed with the natural results on my Bronze Moray. In just over 2 months it is the color of a well used penny. The engraved indices on the bezel and the crevices under the bezel haven't reached that really dark look yet, but the sides of the case look almost dirty dark highlighted by the bright wear marks where my wrist touches the base of the case. I am awaiting a strap from GSD that I hope completes the look.

It's a pretty safe bet that they were.
