I own a Magrette, pre-ordered an Olivier and greatly desire a Benarus.

Lum-Tec is hardly a mall rack brand; perhaps you were thinking of Luminox? Yes, you will see more and more bronze around, even in mall racks. I saw a bronze Fossil yesterday ... ;)Originally Posted by thecustomer

My bad ttimbo; I was in fact thinking Luminox. Nevertheless, you hit it on the nail that we will start to see a lot of bronze around and all over the mall racks. Fossils and Invictas of the world are going to flood the market with this metal. Hell we will probably have a G-Shock in Bronze color plastic soon. I should just...![]()
So folks, thus far we have had the following brands in the running for my Bronze Diver:
In order of availability:
In order of affordability:
- Magrette (Can be ordered now)
- Olivier (Can be ordered now)
- Helson (Can be ordered now)
- Lum-Tec (Can be ordered on Jan 2012)
- Benarus (SOLD OUT)
- Kazimone (SOLD OUT)
- Kevutsmann (No idea if this is available for purchase or not)
In the order of desirability (based on Poll Results so far):
- Magrette ($415)
- Olivier ($650 - 850)
- Helson ($1299)
- Lum-Tec (?? But probably will fit here)
- Benarus (~$1500 aftermarket)
- Kazimone (~$1600 - $1900 aftermarket)
- Kevutsmann (No idea but probably the most expensive)
- Olivier
- Helson
- Benarus
- Magrette
- (Kazimone, Kuvetsmann tied)
- Lum-Tec
All these factors considered, it seems that the most viable top 3 are: Olivier, Helson and Margette.
So will someone please convince me why I should consider buying a Helson for $1299 instead of buying a Magrette AND an Olivier (ETA) for a combined cost of $1265?
And if the counter argument is that Helson is an "upgrade" then why I shouldn't just pay a few dollars more and just upgrade to a Kazimone or a Benarus? Is Helson better than these 2 brands? If so, why?
Well I applaud you sir on the craftsmanship and choice of materials. Stunning combo.
BTW, voted for the Olivier because of overall combination of looks, price, and availability. Of the entire list, however my top choice would likely be the benarus. I like the look of the black numerals on the bronze bezel.

If I didn't already have the Zenton Bronze B43 (which is sold out), I'd be all over the Olivier. I'd vote for the Kazimon but it is the priciest of the bunch.

Magrette and one other.
Better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done...
If you could get the Kazimon, go for it. It's a handcrafted watch and i believe only around 25 were made. The case was machined out of a block of bronze. Pricing was just around $2k new.
IMO, it shouldn't even be considered with the rest of the Bronze watches on your list.
I'm not familiar with the Kavutsmann, but the rest of the watches appear to be catalog case HK watches.
With tha said, I'm glad that Dion and Roland are able to bring affordable Bronze to the masses.
