I want a Bronze Diver. Which one (or two) should I get?

    Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum, and although I have lurked the shadows for a couple of years, I finally just registered and this is my first post. Just to establish an introductory baseline, I do not consider myself a collector by any stretch of the imagination, I am an enthusiast and do have my fair share of miscellaneous watch pile.

I am recently intrigued by the "Bronze Age" in the watch industry and want to be an early adopter. I am not a diver, so not interested in spending several thousand dollars on a "halo" diver watch. The most that my watch will see is the depths of a swimming pool so I want to consider more reasonably priced brands in the <$1500 category.

That being said, I have done some research and shortlisted 5 most viable options for me to pick from.

First, I want your expert opinion on any other makes/brands besides these 5 that I may have missed but must consider, and more importantly which one or two (may need to buy wife a purse if I end up getting 2) of these I should buy and why.

Option 1: Margette Regatterra Bronze ($415) Magrette REGATTARE Bronze just released

Option 2: Olivier ($850 for Swiss ETA or $650 for Miyota)
    OLIVIER Bronze DIVER

Option 3: Helson ($1299) Helson Bronze Shark Diver Arrives

Option 4: Kevutsmann (Price UNKNOWN) Another bronze dive watch for your consideration

Option 5: Benarus Bronze Morey (SOLD OUT used market ~$1500) Bronze Moray arrived

My favourite is actually the Kazimon 1500B. Other than that, I like the Kaventsmann bronze divers (wow). Good luck with your decision...

Wow!! How did I ever miss the Kazimon 1500B? Its a stunning diver. I just went to their website and sent them an email to find out if they will be producing any more in the future. Do you know how these will be priced?

I've been scoping the bronze market for a while as well. Personally I like the look and the price of the new Olivier and will be going with the ETA version of that

Yes stretch. I have been scoping out the Magarette and Olivier myself. I reserved one for myself in Megrette's next batch of 500. I also went contacted Helson to reserve a spot in their next batch, but then I came across Olivier and persco just introduced me to Kazimon so I'm back to the drawing board.

Personally, I love the Magarette for their stunning design, trusted Miyota movement, limited quantity and incredible price point. For a second watch, I was considering Helson with the ETA movement till I found out about Olivier. IMO, Olivier has an edge over Helson on design and price but they are a new kid no the block so I am worried about reliability. And then Kazimon is just incredible! So confused!

The "Olivier" is nice, but geez that's a silly name.

LOL! Yes I thought about that initially and it bothered me even more since its smack on the face of the dial as well, but then it has started to grow on me. Also, seems Olivier and Helson are leading the pack in the polls as well. I am surprise that Margette has 0 votes. The company has great reviews all over the forum and people seem to be very excited about their collection as well. What gives?

The Magrette has plenty of fans, but just doesn't do it for me.
Not digging the date window on the Olivier, and isn't the case the same as Scafo? This one's a pass for me.
SDb: I go through periods of wanting one but it hasn't happened. I think having had the stainless SD and Zenton M45 has scratched the itch.
Really like the the Kaventsmann, it has it's own identity, but for me too big and would like a date and rotating bezel.
Out of these I'd go with the Benarus with display back. A quality, comfortable watch from a good company...but I'm already firmly in the bronze age :

I voted Benarus but the Helson is a close second. My opinion is based solely on looks...
