Which Japanese diver (Seiko, Orient, Citizen) company has a Submariner or Deep Sea Diver killer?

Anyone here can recommend a Japanese-made Submariner or DSD killer? Thinking of upgrading to a high-end mechanical diver, and need your expertise.

    Define "Killer".

    Then, what's your budget?

For a technically excellent watch of very high quality, the Grand Seiko divers come to mind.

Workhorse diver that's top notch: Seiko Marinemaster.

Excellent value, well executed diver Orient OS 300.

Yes, plenty of comparisons out there between the Seiko SBDX001 MM300 and the Rolex Sub. It is arguably the Japanese equivalent at half the price. Ironically the size is nearly identical to the DSSD. There are several Grand Seiko divers that give the Rolex a serious run for its money.

    Kind Regards,

Killer being that it does the same at a better performance or price range point.

    My budget is approx. $2,500.

At that price point your options are the previously mentioned MM300 and the Orient 300. Perhaps a used Emporer Tuna.

Edit: an Internet search will reveal dozens of people going on and on about the virtues of the MM300.

This one is pretty Sub'esque. It's the SBDC007 aka Shogun.

Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch...HE decides what time it is.

Seiko SBDX001 Marinemaster 300M. Tons of posts here about it, read and decide if it is the watch for you.

For a little more, the SBDX011 Emperor Tuna or for a lot more, the SBDC001 Springdrive Marinemaster 600M.

I thought so highly of them I got all three.

This is sound advice. The Seiko trifecta of power. A Tuna, a marine master, and a spring drive.

Submariner is a real sissy watch, compared to what is out there at that price point. Rolex makes very sissy watches. You drop
one and off it goes to servicing. Plus the Sub is way way way overrated. It used to besomething when it first came out, but now
any Invicta will kick its A$$ when it comes to water submersion.

Get the Charmex CX20K --- It makes the DEEPSEA look like a ladies watch ---- put both deepsea and the cx20k in a pressure chamber
and watch the deepsea implode wayway before the cx20k.... Don't buy the Rolex hype --- those watches have one thing going for them: resale.
Otherwise a sub or deepsea ain't worth more than about $500.....
