    Korsbek vs RGM

Hello all!! Been tracking the forum for a few days and decided to register. You guys have an awesome community here. Lots of helpful advice and constructive criticism.

I was hoping to get some help from the Dive Watch forum faithful. I think I have narrowed down my search to two watches, the Korsbek Oceaneer and the RGM 300 Pro Diver. Obviously, both dive watches but very different in my opinion and hard to compare even for myself. What are your opinions on both? The price points are different and so are the looks. A lot of people have said that the RGM might be over priced, but if price were not an issue would you get one over the other? I have 6.75 inch wrists so in terms of size I may be pushing it either way. This would be my everyday do everything in watch. And although I take care of my pieces would love the security of knowing it could handle the worst. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much in advance!! BTW how have customer service and overhaul/maintenance service experiences been for both companies?

    Re: Korsbek vs RGM

Welcome Static. Can't really speak to the RGM as I've never owned one (yet) other than to say they are great looking pieces. I know the Korsbeks are Fricker produced watches and I'm pretty sure the RGM diver is also, if I remember right.

I have a few Korsbek Ocean Explorers which preceded the release of the Oceaneer model. The OE is my favorite watch in my collection. It is outstanding on every quality level I can think of. The Oceaneer has been sized down to maximize its comfort and wear-ability and I really like the hands set used on it.

I wrote a review of the Korsbek OE that might be interesting or helpful:

From my experience, Poul's customer service has been second to none. My feeling is this: with Korsbek you not only receive a watch of the highest quality standards but also have the assurance of the owner of the company taking a personal interest in your satisfaction and happiness and time and again going above the call of duty to ensure this.

    Best regards.

I don't own either watch, but I have read nothing but good things about both on this forum. As far as quality goes, I don't think you could go wrong with either.

Your 6.75" wrist is the issue here. I also have a 6.75" wrist (and very flat across the top), and anything over 44mm diameter or 50mm lug to lug looks way too big on my wrist. The Korsbek has a 45mm diameter and 54mm lug to lug, so the strap would probably just hang over the sides of your wrist. The RGM has a 43.2mm diameter, but I'm not sure what the lug to lug distance is. You might want to send them an email to see what the lug to lug is. The RGM would probably be a better fit on your wrist. If I had the funds, I would buy an RGM in a heartbeat.

Both companies are going to give you great customer service. Both watches are fantastic quality. In my opinion, for your 6.75" wrist, the RGM would be the better choice only based on size.

    Hi
I have both watches and can say that the RGM looks a bid luxury but you can wear both on your wrist,I have same size as you.
And yes the price for RGM is to high because the bezel does a bad work.
If the nightfew impotant so can i say the Korsbek have better Lume.
So between the pice and the work take Korsbek.
I hope its a help for you.

I don't have the Oceaneer but did have the OE and still have the RGM 300. The RGM is one of those tool divers that can pull off being worn as casual and dress as well. Quality needs to be felt to appreciate. The OE I had was quality as well but to me was just stricly a tuff diver piece. You can't go wrong either way, just depends on what you are looking for. Both will handle whatever you can dish out and both have excellent customer service. As far as the price issue on the RGM..........As I saw stated somewhere before regarding the German made cases/watches......."You get what you pay for". It's worth it (to me). Good luck

Thanks for your reply. Did you buy direct from RGM?
