I don't know.. Why do you pick out the clothes that you purchase? However, I do have a THEORY.. It's what I like...maybe? Why do you have to ask "why"?
Also know that I am not limited to ONLY bigger and heavier watches. You can see my list in my signature contain quite a large range of w atches.
Forgive me for ranting or for being rude, but why do you CARE what anyone else likes?
Helson Gauge?
47mm and huge domed crystal. Don't know how much it weighs though.

My Watches:
Breitling Super Avenger
Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph 9300
UTS Adventure 500m
You and me both! I love the feel and heft of a solid piece of stainless steel on my wrist...my favorite and heaviest was my Megalodon. It exuded quality and weighed about as much as a pint of beer! Of course, after saying that I've been wearing my Seiko Shogun (super light weight titanium)...it too exudes quality but for different reasons. Titanium is silky smooth and so refined and nicely finished...but I digress!

I know the OP said he did not like the A-1 but it is a great diver and HUGE. I sold mine because I could only keep one and the Puck won.
