    Magrette PVD Chrono Decision Help

Well, it's happened again; I've seen a watch and can't get it out of my head. I know this watch is limited to 1000 pieces so I figured I would come here hoping you guys would know what's best to do.

Is this piece already/almost sold out?

Is there any chance of me finding it on the used market or is everybody that's getting them keeping them?

Can some owners of the watch itself post up their opinions along with some photos if they have them?

Figured I would come here before anywhere else since you guys seem to be the experts of the forums on Magrette.
    -Matt

They've been available for pre-order since March and have only started to be delivered in the last month or so. See At last...the Magrette chronographs!!! for more information.

Thanks for the link to the thread, I actually had looked it over a bit prior to posting this one; sorry if it seems redundant.

I guess my main question would be is it worth going after? I've been after a good handwind that's style seems to grab me for a while now and think this may be it but am not entirely sure yet.

    Opinions?

Re: Magrette PVD Chrono Decision Help

I'm loving mine, in fact I've been wearing it three days in a row which is probably a record for me. I've had two custom straps made for it which make it look incredible and have garnered more positive comments from complete strangers than I've ever had for any of my other watches.

A small number of people have had some issues with the movement, but Magrette will take care of any problems immediately. Mine (and the vast majority) operate flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it (I have three Magrettes currently, and can't say enough good things about the company).

That's gorgeous Brent. Really love the straps. If I were a chrono man...

Brent - How accurate is it? What type power reserve are you getting? Does it wear like a Panerai? (That's the vibe I get from the case.)

Good questions. It's accurate to within a few seconds a day, but I haven't measured it exactly yet like I usually do with a new watch. I also haven't measured the power reserve. I'll do both of those things over the next couple of day.

The case is closer in design to that of an Anonimo than a Panerai, and I find it wears smaller on my wrist than my Panerai 111. It's very nicely proportioned.

I thought it looked more like an Anonimo as well but figured the Panerai would be more widely recognized.

Please post your results to this thread if you wouldn't mind, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about it's accuracy and power reserve!

Re: Magrette PVD Chrono Decision Help

I have been more than pleased with mine (#125), and have been wearing it constantly. According to Dion, it has about a 45r power reserve, 37 while chrono is working. It talkes about 40 half winds, 20 or so half winds last a day or so. Chek this site out Magrette Timepieces

I haven't noticed it being terribly slow or fast, but I haven't truly "tested" it.

It does have a great solid feel. The bezel is a tad loose, but it still feels quality to me.

I have roughed it up some already and have noticed it has taken it well. It has taken enamel from the drier and asphalt from a parking lot and still looks and works perfect.

I would buy again without hesitation!

Great info glad to hear you're enjoying it!

My only worry at this point would be the PVD coating. I've read several places that PVD coatings have tendency to fail and show scratches extremely easily. A DLC coating is apparently superior in its ability to last.

How's everyone's PVD coatings holding up?
