Saw your post too late. But, I think you chose wisely :)
Today, my 2006 GSAR arrived back from cleaning.
    It's a fantastic watch.

Hope you will be as happy as I am with mine.
Please, do post your pics when you get it.

I've had both - Marathon a keeper, Resco was a ship back for the toy watch look with fashion purple hue crystal. You seem to like bracelets and Marathon of the two is the only one with a OEM bracelet that happens to be an outstanding one.

Great feedback everyone, I really appreciate it. I will post pics when I get my GSAR in, I'm getting the sterile dial version. It will be a couple weeks until I can get them posted based on my travel schedule but stay tuned.

GSAR is 41.1mm, and it's excellent. It's the watch I put on every time I venture into the outdoors, whether it be hiking or kayaking, it's at home in the woods and the water (mine was a few feet in the Delaware river a few weeks ago when I went kayak--attached to my wrist still, of course). I have a larger wrist--around 7.75", and it's a little smaller than what I normally wear, but I don't mind it. It's great for actual activities, since it never gets in the way. And it's not so small that you feel like it's too small.

And it uses an ETA movement instead of some Russian movement, and compared to the Patriot, it's dirt cheap.

Just a word of advice. If you do buy a bracelet, it's a hell and a half to resize. I've never worn mine on the bracelet because I don't have the proper tools to resize it for my wrist.

Goose, I tried to find a 12 hr GMT Insert but Jim Madrid had none so I ask Jay @ MCWW if he could custom fit this one. Bingo.

Quick update - purchased my mint GSAR off eBay last night. Now i just need the bracelet and aparently one of these custom bezel rings too :) they do look pretty cool. Even though there are tons of GSAR pics already, i will post mine on here when it arrives.
