    Go smoke another one Pal.
You got a great combo, but, I think you mean SINN U1 rubber for the win!

Re: Marathon strap options and pics

I've tried mine on a whole bunch of stuff:
Maratac zulu - felt too thick for initial comfort. After some wear, gets much better.
Nato - has to be a sturdier webbing because otherwise it won't hold the watch in place very well and it will slide around. I like Phoenix (same as Timefactors, I believe).
OEM thin rubber - heard good things. Tried it briefly but just can't do rubber straps
Isofrane- proof that a more expensive rubber strap is still a rubber strap. I still didn't care for it.
    (cheap) mesh- nope
Sinn rubber- best of the rubber options I tried. Didn't wrap that well around my girly 6.5" wrist and was a bugger to get it installed.
Chronissimo - felt too thick and didn't really shape to my wrist that well.
    Watchadoo - not bad
    Hirsch liberty - not bad.
Maratac elite- looked great, heard good things but didn't bend well around my girly wrist

I'm sure I've tried other options as well but here's what I ended up wearing mostly:
Marathon Maple Leaf bracelet - Dang. Stunning. Superbly balanced, and fits really well.
J-Straps custom saddle leather - took a bit of wear, but super comfy and substantial enough to hold the top heavy SAR in place while still being very comfortable on the wrist.

YMMV. FWIW I have a smaller wrist at 6.5" and I wear mine for anything - mountaineering, climbing, biking, hiking, days at the office, paddling, skiing, snowshoeing.

Heebs - thanks for the detailed response! Next time i'm in Calgary for business we'll have to get together. For now i'm going to wait for my bracelet to come in and get it switched over to that as quickly as possible. thanks everyone.

IMHO, I think the Marathon SAR looks great on some Seiko rubber. I am wearing it on the flat vent atm...

Let me know next time you're going to be in town!

I forgot to mention, but the endlinks are machined to pretty tight tolerances so it can be a struggle to get them to fit into the lugs - gotta get everything lined up properly and even then can take a couple attempts. At least for me anyway. You'll see when you get it, but it's definitely worth the struggle.

Thanks to heebs and raza for a heads up on the tight bracelet tolerance. I think for the initial fit I'll take it to my watch guy here in Vancouver to get it right.
