I continue my search for iconic watches. The 3 above are not all inclusive. I have about $5000 or so to spend now. I have had the Seiko Marine Master 300 and the Seiko Spring Drive, loved them but sold. This time around, I am not selling, just holding (ya, I know, but it is true after selling all of my watches, took a huge loss), For example, bought a new Deepsea for $9500 about 1 year ago, would take about $11K now? Geez. I know that the exchange rate has something to do with that on many brands. Looking at used Ploprof, mnt, just not sure what price to pay, how to determine when it was made, ec. It was a reisssue. I think the one I am looking at is from 2007/2008.
In any event, want to stick to the top name brands that will generally hold value over time. I will get another Deep Sea at some point, made a huge mistake in selling it. Also sold my IWC Big Pilot, Rolex President, Rolex Daytona, Doxa Divingstars, one of my 2 Sinn EZM1's, Mulhes, UTS(all depths), Omega's and many other iconic brands. I did buy a T-Graph, here on Monday.
Anyway, I have sat here for 3 days trying to make decisions on watches that appeal to me, have not excluded all, but again, want to stick to historically significant watches.
Finally, I love large, heavy and thick watches. Any input would be helpful so I don't have to sit here all weekend fretting. Thanks!!![]()
