    Question MKII Question

Do any of the MKII's models wear visually larger than 42mm? I usally have to wear something at least 44mm because I've got 8" wrists, but I'd really like to pick up an MKII watch. Maybe a Gasgasbones B&R strap would help things a bit? Thoughts? Any 8' wristed MKII owners out there?

    Re: MKII Question

I would say the Stingray would be the way to go. I'm pretty sure they're all the same size but the oversized crown on the Stingray might make it look bigger.

Got one on my list too. I saw the prototype of the LRRP ....very nice looking as all Mkii watches are. Drive down to KOP and tell Bill to let you try one on.

The Blackwater wears very small in my opinion.

    Re: MKII Question

I just traded a Seafighter...beautiful watch but too big for me...it has a long case length,49mm, which makes it's 42+mm dia. wear real big...and it's tall 13.5mm+, the guy I traded w/ has big wrists and he's very happy w/ it. I got a Blackwater, my 2nd one..it wears better on my wrist(hair or 3 under 7") The Stingray also has a long case length, very similar specs, it too wears big. Also MK II LRRP. IMO the longer case lengths makes a watch wear & look bigger.

    Re: MKII Question

Hummm.... When you say "long case" and 49mm in the same sentence it confuses me a bit. I have tried on a Korsbek OE and and a Kobold LSD and both fit pretty darn good on my big wrists and they have case lengths of somewhere in the neighborhood of 54mm. So I'm a bit concerned with trying to pull of something that is 5mm shorter..... Maybe I'll wait till Chris picks his Stingray up and I'll try it on first before buying one for myself.....

    Re: MKII Question

Yeah "long case" is relative. I have a 7.75-8" wrist and the OE and Seal's 54mm length is just right for me. For example, the Sinn U1 is 44mm across with a bigger than average dial, but wears smaller because of the 51mm lug-to-lug height.

Watches with bracelets also tend to wear larger as the bracelet adds to visual heft as well as the endlinks sometimes extending the lugs out a little bit.

My Stingray 50 wears the same as most 42mm cases. Neither larger nor smaller.

    Re: MKII Question

I think the Stingray wears very small for a 42mm, mostly due to the dial size. I can wear some 42mm's, but flipped the Stingray instantly because it felt tiny compared to what I was used to. Shame, as it is an incredibly well built and classic watch.

    Re: MKII Question

I have the Sea Fighter and the Stingray. My wrist is 7". The Stingray "looks" bigger I believe because of the bezel. I have rubber straps on mine but if I had a larger wrist I would probably go with either of these watches with a bracelet. Hope this helps.

    Re: MKII Question

Thanks for all you're help guys! It seems like Eric L. and I have about the same size wrists and need that extra lug length so as not to see too much strap! I think I may hold off on an MKII for now.
