My emperor tuna bezel froze up on me :(

I was at the beach while on vacation and my emperor tuna bezel froze on me. I had to wash it out in fresh water repeatedly for like 30-60 minutes. It's still a PIA to turn, but at least it's moving. This has happened with other watches before...but none this price range. Will i have to take the bezel and shroud apart to clean it out or should i just keep washing it out with fresh water while turning it. Please, advise me oh wise dive watch/seiko peeps :(

Could be sand in there. The best thing is to take the bezel off. Clean everything out and lube up the gasket.

    disassemble, check, clean

don't spray grease or pour hot water to band-aid fix, if you have sands in there the more you turn the more it will grind up the clicker ring/detent ball

I face the same problem with my emperor tuna. What I did was to send it to my local watch repairer and he open up the bezel and Lub the gasket. This solved my problem and it was all smooth again.

I initially was stunned as well as it took me a huge amont of force to move it even slightly. Recommend that you do not forcefully turn it anymore to prevent any damage.

I read somewhere and also written in the manual to turn the bezel regularly which is what I am doing now!

    Good luck

Had this happen with my Sinn U2 while I relaxed on the beach after surfing. Needless to say, it also scared the sh&t out of me, especially at that price point. I ended up swimming in a pool back at the house, and the motion seemed to dislodge the grain(s) of sand that were causing the issue. But it happened more than once, and I was definitely not building sandcastles with my son or anything- just swimming in the very rough ocean. I suggest soaking in warm water and trying to move it while submerged, without much force. Definitely avoid spraying it with any sort of chemicals.
Best of luck and hope it doesn't need some coserv love.
    Best

Thank you all for answering my plea for help!!! It's working fine now. I just kept washing It out in water and took a hot bath with the wife as well before bed (strictly G rated unfortunately :( ). It's pretty much back to normal, but i think i'll take the g-shock king to the beach today ;) ! I'll probably take it apart when we return home monday and properly clean it out.
