Nice looker, love the titanium and great clasp and I like the more common movement for long term maintenance requirements and the best thing.....no HRV
Sorry, Lex. There's an automatic HRV on the left side of the case. :)

DAMN! How friggin stupid. If Rolex can't buck this useless trend who can?
    Still a nice watch.

Good performance analogy but it appears the Pelagos is finished a lot better than a Defender.

That is a really sharp-looking watch and I dig the trick clasp. What is MSRP on this?

    Stunning watch !

    This brushed/microblasted finish is... terrific.
Definitely my choice compared to the Sub, but too pricey for me anyway.

The Pelagos truly is an excellent dive watch and I'm sure you would love it. But in the end you would miss your Sea Dweller. IMHO, the classic Sea Dweller simply is THE dive watch!

Exactly my thoughts! The dial would have looked much cleaner if they would simply have used "automatic" instead. But oh well, "Rotor Self Winding" is the classic term Tudor used on the dials of most of their classic dive watches...

My only concern on that watch is the clasp with the spring-loaded set up. I'm just wondering how long that set up will last before a spring fails, and if that spring failure occurs, will the clasp still function (albiet with a reduced function). The clasp looks to be an extremely innovative solution, but potentially delicate in an area that is exposed to a lot of sweat, grit and daily movement of components. Like the Defender 90 in your analogy, sometimes simple is better in products designed for rugged use. Then again, that is what the included rubber strap is for.

Great looking watch and thank you again for the photos!
Actually, the clasp is more rugged and solid than it looks. It's very well constructed and the springs are quite firm (it takes quite some force to stretch them). However, if they ever should fail, the micro adjuster for the 3 fixed positions would still work (this mechanism works independently of the two large springs). It also looks like the clasp can be fully disassembled (if you have the right tools). Hence, I think changing the springs won't be that much of a deal...
