New Hager watches with Swiss movement

As an owner of a Hager Commando, I was very happy to see Pete over at Hager is launching a new line of Swiss movement watches. My personal favorite out of the new models is the GMT Traveler. Here is a link: GMT TRAVELER

Here are some of the specs:

    Movement
Caliber: HR 28 Swiss Made Automatic
    Date display at 4:30H
    Jewels: 21 Jewels
    Power Reserve: 36 Hours
    Hz: 3/21'600 vibrations per hour
Material: Stainless steel or DLC coated
    Diameter: 45mm without crown
    Height: 14.5mm with solid back
    Water Resistance: 200m/660ft
Crystal: Sapphire crystal (anti-reflective coating on the interior only)
Dial: Double flange with applied indexes outlined
    Bezel: Black ceramic bezel
Hands: Black outlined sword hands with blue Super Luminova
Crown: Screw-down signed with company logo

Just a beautiful watch and I can't wait to get my hands on one!

The new commander looks nice! just wish it wasn't that big. should've kept a 40mm version.

Ditto! I hope they do some more 40mm models in the future.

Also the lugs on the GMT Traveler look quite long.

Agree with all the above. 45mm diameter plus super long lugs = not for me.

Also, at $900, there are quite a few similarly spec'ed options if you would consider the ETA 2893-2 movement. It sounds like the movement Hager has selected is more similar to the Rolex movement where the quickset feature is associated with the hour hand (rather than the 24 hour hand as in the 2893-2), but I'm not certain this feature alone is worth the $400 premium over a GMT from someone like Steinhart.

It is a great effort though. I just wish it was a bit smaller in all dimensions.

I own several pair of their pants. Now there's a watch to go with them - sweet!

As a military veteran/officer, and Hager commando owner, the new line is just too large to neatly tuck under BDU's. Hager should have available a 40mm Commando with ETA movement. Seems to me like they have skipped a couple of price points in their jump to MUCH more expensive timepieces rather than to earn the higher price. In my opinion Hager has outpriced themselves to many-many prospective buyers by such a quick and high price hike. Lost sight of their original business plan concerning customer satisfaction. Just too much money and too large. Not my cup of tea as is the Commando.

Way too big, and slightly too expensive. I feel like they've missed the mark with these ones. They have with me. Pop the GMT movement in the 40mm case and price it like a Steinhart and I would be all over it. Hell, put the regular movement in the 40mm case and I would be all over it.
    Cheers,

Anyone have any idea where the movement is from? Is it likely a re-badged one?

But the lugs look curved so I guess it will wear smaller

Made by DEPA with some customization (could just be engraved rotor and decoration)
