I totally agree with Bill. A lot of us cannot afford $5k-$6k for the original. I am glad to see someone is filling the niche for those who like these types of homages. Also, everytime something like this comes available, the debate continues. To those who are turned off, if you honestly feel that way, DO NOT buy. However, those who do and will, DO NOT look down upon them. Each of us has money to buy if we so desire.

So... You're a WUS moderator. WUS does not allow discussions of watch copies and replicas, and the mods monitor and enforce that. You just referred to this Helson watch as a copy and a rep[lica].

This argument has been beaten to death and I encourage all participating in this thread to not feed the trolls who just want to see bickering and chaos erupt.

As far as I am concerned, and this is a personal opinion that I think many others share, a replica is a version trying to be exactly the same as the original. If the name is different, then it is a homage, and not a replica. I believe the rule here is that discussion of replicas are not allowed.

The Helson is a slightly more refined version of the LM-7 - it appears to use the exact same case, but the dial color reflects the original Omega blue color. The red plastic button is also a nice homage to the original.

You seem to be arguing semantics at this point and perhaps getting an argument going, since he is a mod. Bill simply said that if you want to own a piece of history at a fraction of the cost then Homage type watches are the way to go.

As far as this tired thread goes, some people feel they infringe on intellectual rights some don't. Some wouldn't be caught dead wearing one and some chose to wear them proudly.

I for one was one that loved them at one point but grew tired of knowing that I was wearing a watch made/ copied to look like something else. Instead of arguing the same old point, I've chosen to speak with my wallet. I sold my Steinhart Vintage and many others and have put my money where my mouth is. What others do is a personal choice...no wrongs...no rights...
