I really like this watch. two things that keep me from exploring further: lug width, will be impossible to find an aftermarket strap. And the price is kinda steep, should be in the $1200 range. It would not be a keeper and you would lose big $$ trying to flip it.

Thanks for your response, I think it is expensive and you're right with the strap issue, although I like a lot too.

    Best regards

FWIW, there is an older sector 600 auto diver that looks very similar to this watch. You see them selling in the $300's on the sales forum occasionally.

Just do a google search for sector 600 automatic.

Does this line (from their marketing materials) make any sense to anyone else?

"The tiny micro gas light glass tubes that guarantee constant visibility glow blue on the Deep Dive series, as blue is the last color that the eyes register as one goes deeper and deeper under water."
I understand how light wavelengths are filtered through water, and how reds are removed first and blues last. But this is all dependent on the light source being on the surface and being filtered out by dozens of feet / meters of water. If the light source is at hand you'll see the same wavelengths as if you were right at the surface. IE. if you shine a flashlight on a red object at the bottom of the ocean, it'll still look red - as long as the light is right there. This is why underwater photography works. Theoretically it shouldn't matter what color the lume is on this watch - from the perspective of the diver at least.

Watches: Rolex Air King 114200; DOXA 1000T Project Aware (75/92); Hamilton Khaki Automatic; Seiko SKX013K1 Diver's 200M; Shearwater Research Predator; Suunto M5; Tissot PRS200; Generic Swiss Military; Jorg Gray 6500 "Obama Watch"

"Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much... the wheel, New York, wars, and so on, whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely the dolphins believed themselves to be more intelligent than man for precisely the same reasons."

Somehow even without a patent I don't think anyone would borrow the patented bezel locking mechanism.

that's true, but i do not think a sub will point the flashlight to a watch to see the time, so it will be on the natural light at that depth, it can 'be some dim light on the watch unless the sub itself is subjected to the light of a flash. Corals and fishis will be under flashlights.

Well, yes, but at the same time the light emitted by the lume itself should still be visible (in the entirety of it's spectrum) when it's only a foot away from a divers face, no?
