New Marathon Arctic Ranger Dive Watch? Any info?

If the thing is really mil-spec, then I can see why they charge so much. I worked for a lens manufacturing company some years back and I know the kind of QA testing they needed to perform for the night vision lenses and telescope coatings, FLIR, etc. They had to do stuff like freeze the lenses then heat them to high temps very quickly, blast them with sand, drop them, and then all had to still perform their job within acceptable parameters.

Real mil-spec equipment is made to work in realworld working conditions where guys will abuse them and not baby them. However, I would rather spend that kind of cash on a luxury watch like Omega or Rolex over something military looking and not as luxurious looking.

I can assure you...some of the nylon/resin watches that meet a spec are nothing special.

Ex: meeting MIL-PRF-46374G, Type I, Class 1... doesn't exactly require a great watch.

I only own a GSAR and have beat the ever loving shiz out of it. Still ticking, Still keeping great time, Still looks like it was meant to be used. I don't know what they have planed in the future for their designs and QC but mine is a keeper and wont die.

I'm working with a Marathon AD here in the U.S. trying to pre-order one from Marathon. No word from Marathon yet as to when it will be available.

I hope they are coming out with a brand new line... They really need to increase the size of their watches to at least 42mm... preferably 44mm.
