    New Watch Company

    Hello,

My name is Poul, and I have posted several times on here, as I have a passion for dive watches.

I am in the process of starting my own watch company, so I would appreciate everyone's opinion on my first dive watch called "Ocean Explorer"

    Here are the specifications:
    • 44 mm Diameter
    • Brushed stainless Steel
    • WR 1500 Meters
    • Automatic ETA 2824-2
    • Doomed Sapphire (anti-reflective, inside only)
    • Lug size is 24
    • Swiss Made
I will post images of the back side and side view of the watch case beginning of next week.

My designs are based on simplicity, reliability, and being an all around tool watch.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

Thank you for a great forum

I am Danish so sorry for any misspellings or poor grammar.

    Regards,

    Poul

    Looks kind of Soarway'ish?
    Nice!
    Good luck Poul!

Welcome to the Dive Watches Forum, Poul!

Your new diver looks great to me! I'd prefer 24mm lugs as they open up a whole other world of straps to choose from, but 22mm is the next best thing.

I'm looking forward to future developments.

I'm with XTrooper on the desire for 24mm lug width. Otherwise, great looking design you have . Best of luck with the design and welcome to the forums.

    Hi XTrooper and Mike,

I think that you guys are right on the 24mm lugs. I will talk to my partner about it. Thanks for the nice remarks

My question regarding 24mm lugs would be," Will you still be able to offer a bracelet? Straps are nice, but many of us are bracelet guys.

    Hi Mr Boots,

If we decide to go with the 24mm, then absolutely it will come with a 24mm Stainless steel bracelet. It will be included in the price. I am a bracelet guy myself.

    Re: New Watch Company

I also would like to see 24mm lugs, and be sure to have them drilled for quick strap changes.

The crown guards are a little weak for my taste, maybe beef it up on the bottom side a little.

    I love those hands.

Maybe add the depth to the bottom of the dial, people love to see that.

What kind of movement will you use?

What will the price point be?
    Cheers!

    Re: New Watch Company

Agree with all the other guys here. a drilled hole for quick strap change would be a must, 22 or 24 lugs are both OK. I would also like to see the 1500m on the front.

Will the watch be made in the USA, Swiss or Asia?
Please, put the antireflective coating only on the underside of the crystal and not on the outside like the Sinn or Omega watches. It is a smuch/dirt/fingerpring magnet, can scratch and would keep me from buying the watch.

Otherwise I really like the design!

I'm guessing a lot of IWC AT 3536-002 inspiration here.

It's a nice and clean design IMO.
