Confused Ocean7 PloProf or Helson Sharkdiver 600?

Just like the title states I got bit by the PloProf bug and got bit bad. I'm now seriously looking at both of these models and need to know which choice would be better.

I don't know much about Helson or Ocean7 so feel free to chime in with your knowledge.

Also, if there are any other PloProf homages that I may have skipped over and should consider don't be afraid to mention them.

I've had my LM7 for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier.

Appreciate the great shots and input guys but can you tell me why - if at all - I should choose one over the other?

I noticed Ocean7 had an option for a COSC movement in their LM-7's but don't see that option on the Helson. Is there anything else I may be missing here?

Never owned a LM-7 so i cannot do a straightforward comparison in terms of built quality all i can say to you is this, if you're looking for a faithful reproduction, the Helson Sm600 is the only way to go, i mean monobloc case same crown winding mechanism like the original Omega PloProf 600.
COSC is not a big deal for me my SM600 was running within those specs.

I have had three lm7's and all gone in short order. Helson to me at least is a better watch in every category.

I don't have the Helson Sharkdiver 600. But I own a Helson Skindiver and I have to say the construction is tight and the edges are sharp (actually too sharp)

I have had my share of LM7, while i think they are decent, i like the tight construction of the Helson better. the bezel on LM7 is a bit vague, which i didn't like. the LM7 lume is bright, blinding bright (!) and it does have an optional bracelet.

what i didn't like about the sharkdiver 600 is the crown stem access hole on the caseback. its small and i don't like small gasket. i much prefer if they left it as a conventional caseback with big (thick) caseback gasket instead.

I keep seeing mention of the 'crown stem access hole' located on the caseback of this watch. Can anyone elaborate further? I've never heard of this type of 'feature', if you want to call it that, on a watch before.

Go the Helson's web site for the pix

    Sharkmaster 600 - Helson Watches

check out the caseback pix. you will see there is a small screw on the caseback.

since ETA movement has a crown release at the bottom, you will need some kind of access (opening) if you are going to make a "one piece caseback"

the reason why i don't like small opening like this is that the gasket for this kind of opening would be small. and small gasket would be "easier" to break or mis-align which will result in problem with water resistant.
