Heh. Well, it helped that I re-read the original announcement at some point and realized that those pictures are of Roland wearing it on a 6.5 wrist. A bronze diver that can fit on those of us who aren't ACTUALLY strongergodzilla-sized. It was a point of concern for me before that, but the reasonable lug distance, along with some aesthetic factors, eventually won me over.

I also got a chance to meet up with Roland in person recently to check out the new Olivier bronze divers, and I came away quite impressed. For the money, the quality of the case and the look of the bronze in person was very nice. I was on the fence as to whether or not I was going to order one, but seeing them in person and him adding the option of a no-date dial was all I need to be pushed over the edge. Now I can't wait to get one when they are finally available in April!

Every time I meet with someone I always intend on taking some pictures, but always get too caught up on the conversations to remember! Only Mr. Rick has remembered to snap a shot! [and we almost forgot his camera after talking some more afterward!!!]

I got the chance to try on the prototypes, and hear Roland's thoughts about his design. I now know that watch designing and watch building are in his blood, and that he has the passion and drive to transform his ideas into reality.

Be advised that the designs will be produced in limited quantities, so pre-ordering is advised.

If these prototypes are any indication, I believe you can expect good things from Roland and the Olivier Watch Company, now, and in the future.

Here is a comparison of a pair Roland's Olivier Bronze Divers with my Halios Laguna.
