Question Oris Diver Crown Tube Question

posted this over on the Oris forum but maybe some one here can offer some insight...

the crown tube on my Titan Diver Date seems short compared to my other divers. i can only get about two turns on it and sometimes it's tricky to get it to "bite" on the first turn. once the threads are engaged it locks down securely. i've looked at the threads through a loupe and they don't appear to be stripped.

    any thoughts? is this common?

    thanks.

Threads on case tube are still manually did on individual watch case, so variations between watches are very common. What you need to concern is does it un-screw by itself? how often this happened? You can easily replace it with a new one and hopefully get more turns to secure it. Expect half the price of regular service cost.

Re: Oris Diver Crown Tube Question

Tyler, I've owned 2 Oris Titan 1000m's and a Carlos Coste Diver and both had a very short crown tube. About 1.5 - 2 turns and the crown was fully screwd down. I think this is common with Oris TT1 divers. Although the crown only seems to catch 2 threads or so, I never had a problem with leaks, cross threading or the crown popping off what so ever. The 1000m Titan is still one of my all time faves!
    Best regards,

    Dan

    thanks for he replies, guys.

the crown has never unscrewed by itself and i've had no problems with leaking. in fact, i wore it in maui recently and it was in the water everyday for a week -- performed flawlessly.

    thanks again.
